Tuesday Evening

We had a "blast" Tuesday evening... Thanks to all who brought knitting projects to show to the WASC team. I believe we did exceptional well. All projects presented were just spectacular.

The first sign of "summer", my kitty likes to enjoy the sun and whereas during the winter she almost never leaves the house, as soon as the sun is shining she begs to go outside. I made some pictures of her lying on the ground enjoying the warm sun on her belly. She must have felt me taking pictures because she changed positions three times so that I sure get "all" of her in focus. Kitty's name is Sadie and she is part of our family since 1994.

Crochet Baby Jacket w beanie

This is a simple and easy project for the beginner. The only decrease is on the sleeves. The jacket is crochet in one piece, divided for left and right front. The sleeves have been crochet directly onto the garment with one decrease in every row (nine times). The color was added as followed: Start at the right back and sc to the other site and back to the beginning. Row 3 sc back and add one stitch from the front panel to your row. R4, sc back and add another stitch from the opposite front panel to your row. Turn, ch1, sc to the other end and continue in this fashion until no stitches left to add or until there are only 3 stitches left on each front panel to increase.
The little beanie is knitted in the round K2 P2 and the decrease has been as followed: Row 1 all knit stitches: k2tog. P2; k2tog; continue in this fashion until there are no 2 knit stitches left. Row 2 all purls stitches p2tog, k1 p2tog; continue in this fashion until there are no 2 purls stitches left. (You now have reduced your stitches by 50% (half). Take tapestry needle and gather remaining stitches and loop the yarn though each stitch. There is NO bind off…. Secure the end of the yarn and cut.
