Last Day... very somber...

Azusa Adult School has held its last day of class on Thursday June 9. 2010. All students participated and we had a nice morning, followed by a beautiful pot-luck lunch.

Sadly, due to budget cuts the Azusa Unified School District decided to cut all the arts classes including our knitting/crochet class to free up funds for its K-12 programs. Whereas I am very sad that this is happening, I do understand that educating children has a higher priority than teaching adults how to knit and crochet. I truly believe that the people responsible for the current educational crisis are all sitting in Sacramento and believing they did the right thing. For one or another reason each and every one of them had voted to allow adult education funding to be rerouted and used for K-12 programs anyway a district sees fit, hoping they can make themselves feel better for being such a dysfunctional bunch of clowns.

Here are the latest projects students worked on.
Below:
Fran's newest lace pattern scarf.

Sherry's Afghan, made of Amity yarn from Ella Rae
Luu's Baby set...
and lastly... I made this set for a three month old baby girl.

Luu made these adorable looking baby booties and hat.
This nice looking pillow is the work of Hortensia, so is the colorful table cloth below.

Hortensia also crochet this baby blanket.

Luu made this elegant lace shawl.

The two gorgeous and elaborate pictures are needle point made by Denise.
